A Simple Shower Self Care Recipe

Are you anything like me? Being a stay at home mom, my credit cards are on a tight budget. I would love to be pampered once a month. Whether that’s getting my nails done, getting a massage, or having a full blown spa experience. Just because I do not have the budget for that self care lifestyle, doesn’t mean I don’t deserve to have some kind of self care!

Self Care is so crucial! Everyone under the sun needs some kind of self care treatment. This can be done in so many ways. From reading, writing, shopping, pampering, and even destination traveling, can all be excellent forms of Self Care. What I crave most is the pampering aspect.

This past week, I have given myself a “spa” experience every day. Here’s how I did this.

  1. I lit my calm lavender scented candle. I chose to use natural light from my window instead of the overhead light. This made the experience more peaceful and calm, as the room was dimly lit.
  2. I started the water pretty hot to allow the steam to make its way in, also throwing in a shower bomb to get the spa aroma going.
  3. With Spa music on my YT Music App, I began my shower.

If you have followed this recipe…please stand under the spray, close your eyes, breathe deep and just be for a minute.

What has this done for me? Let me tell you…this has been a game changer for my morning routine. My attitude has lifted. I have felt peace and joy throughout my morning. It gets my day going after a kickass workout, and I have more patience with my baby when he is having a full blown meltdown.

Not everyday can be a spa day as my husband has to help me with the baby, but when I do have the time, you can bet I will be working this into my morning routine.

Please take the time for yourself to work some Self Care into your busy schedule. If you need ideas Pinterest is a great resource. Listen to your body and your soul! What is calling to you? Do you need a vacation away? A new outfit? Do you need to be pampered from your head to your toes? Whatever is calling onto your heart, make the time for yourself. Stay within your means or splurge…either way get it done and ENJOY it!
