It’s the classic saying that everyone has heard before, “You can’t pour from an empty cup!” My friend, this is absolutely true.
“Filling your cup” is filling your soul with things that bring you joy, things that ground you.
What fills my cup??
READING: I read for knowledge, the good old self help me books. This could be for the physical self, the mental self, or the spiritual self. Everyday catches me by surprise. I either read a chapter for knowledge, or a chapter from a personal book. When I was young, I couldn’t enjoy reading. Never was I centered…my mind wandered to much. I started to appreciate a good book in my early twenties, and I am so grateful for that!
WRITING: Writing has always filled my cup. It’s where I get to express myself on a personal level, and in many creative ways.
WORKING OUT: My husband takes the 6 AM morning feedings with my son. This allows me to sneak downstairs into my basement gym and get a great workout in. This is crucial for me. I’ve worked so hard on getting myself back from my Post Partum body, and I’m still working towards personal goals. Being physically active has truly helped with my anxiety. This allows me to start my day with treating my body right.
EATING WELL & TREATING MYSELF: 98% of my time home I eat whole nutrition. When we go out I definitely love to splurge on a treat here and there! Life is a balance and eating a cupcake won’t erase all the hard work I put into myself!
MEDITATION/YOGA STRETCHES: There’s nothing better than spa music, yoga stretches, and deep breathing. Even if it’s ten minutes…I always notice the difference in my mood.
DATING: I either date my husband or I date my friends! Every person in my life fuels my soul in a different way. Being around those I love brings me the most joy!
When my energy is good, and my batteries are charged, I pour so much love and light into my family and friends. I choose to pour “Sprinkles” from my cup!
